SELECTING THE RIGHT SCHOOL - most important factor for positive learning
How a student ends up in a particular school
is often a matter of chance, or convenience,
or "my friend (relative or neighbor’s
child) also goes there". Yet a successful
school career and learning experience depend
to a large extent on the school setting and
curriculum, and it is too risky to send a
child to a program (school) without systematic
evaluation and comparison to find out if
the school can indeed satisfy the child’s
needs, learning style and personality.
Our school placement program will first analyze
the student’s academic levels, learning history,
intellectual strengths and weaknesses, and
his/her social and emotional development.
We then match the school(s) that can best
satisfy these areas and can also further
the student’s school career, taking into
parental consideration of distance, finance
and school philosophy.
The School Placement starts with an extensive
intake session either in person or via the
telephone to define the objectives of the
parents, and to evaluate the student‘s learning
style, energy level, motivation, study habit,
and peer and family relationships. We then
analyze the student’s present curriculum,
textbooks and workbooks used, and recent
test papers and homework if available. Psychological,
personality and achievement tests may be
sought depending on needs.
Based on the above information, we will develop
an educational profile for the child and
will research schools that will fit the profile.
The final phase is a conference either in
person or by phone, to discuss the findings
and recommendations.
The complete School Placement, including
all in-person meetings and testing and a
report, is $850. Internet or phone consult
is charged at $90.00 per hour.
